Owned the product end to end for six enterprise clients and grew it into the company's first paid product at $208K ARR, with 18 daily active users across ~30 seats. One of five engineers; wrote ~30% of the codebase (114K of 386K lines): the AI chat client, charting engine, markdown editor, and automations backend. Built the in-app AI coding agent on the Claude Agent SDK: 3,500+ AI work sessions, 72% of 3,727 client requests completed by the agent itself. Owned CI/CD and release engineering: release success from 63% to 96%, fleet update delivery from 25 to 13 minutes, cadence from weekly to same-day. Forward-deployed at three hedge-fund clients. - **Quant Developer, Paragon Global Investments, Jan 2025 to May 2026.** Engineered a high-frequency, exchange-agnostic backtesting engine across spot and perpetual futures with modular venues and collateral. Shipped the winning strategy off it, a 3x-leveraged delta-neutral BTC funding-carry trade, and published the results as a sole-author SSRN paper: 16.0% annualized, Sharpe 6.1, max drawdown under 2% over three years of tick data. Paper: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=5292305 · Code: https://github.com/skylerlchan/Structured-Basis-Divergence-Arbitrage - **Early ID Program Participant, RBC Capital Markets, Oct 2025 to 2026.** Selected as one of ~150 of 1,500 applicants; produced a full equity research report and investment recommendation with a senior advisor. - **Climate Modeling Research Intern, Princeton HMEI (Vecchi Research Group), Jun to Aug 2025.** Built Python pipelines over 15 CMIP6 climate models to quantify how rainfall responds to solar geoengineering; found black carbon aerosols cool ~10x more effectively than sulfates; cut data-processing time ~40%. ## Ventures and projects - **Exahuman, robot teleoperation lab (Founder and Tech Lead, Princeton Robotics Club, Aug 2026 to now).** Secured $4,500 and recruited a 5-person research team; built SO-ARM101 leader / follower arms at 50 Hz and collected datasets for ACT and SmolVLA imitation-learning policies. C++, ROS, Python, LeRobot, MuJoCo. https://exahuman.io - **Hoverloon, aerial logistics blimp-drone hybrid (Founder and Project Lead, Jul 2025 to Jan 2026).** Won $5,000 in funding and led an 8-person team; buoyant lift reached 19x the drone's own payload capacity at roughly the same power draw; indoor test flight Dec 2025. ROS, CAD, computer vision, embedded systems. - **Beta Flow Browser (VS Code Marketplace, Apr to Jun 2026).** Open-source MIT extension putting a full web browser in the editor sidebar: spaces with their own tabs and favorites, vertical tabs, per-profile cookie isolation, and one-click tab tidying. TypeScript. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=SkylerChan.beta-flow-browser - **Retrieval architecture benchmark (Jul 2026).** Benchmarked 7 retrieval architectures against a synthetic corpus and a 21-document hand-labeled corpus on Recall@k, MRR and nDCG, and wrote it up to drive a production retrieval decision. Python, knowledge graphs, vector search. - **Kalshi trading bot (2026 to now).** A small systematic bot on Kalshi's 15-minute BTC up/down event contracts, taking the favored side in size near resolution. - **LastCurb, real-time NYC parking finder (Jun to Aug 2025).** On-device computer vision over public NYC traffic cameras to spot open curb space in real time, with free public cameras as the only sensor layer. Python. https://github.com/skylerlchan/LastCurb ## Publications and honors - Two sole-author SSRN papers (640 downloads, 9,000+ views): Leveraged BTC Funding Carry Algorithm (2025) and Financial Intermediary Leverage, Volatility, and the Cross-Section of Asset Returns (2021, written in high school; Asset Pricing eJournal). - Y Combinator Spring 2026 · RBC Early ID Program (~150 of 1,500) · $9,500 in Princeton Robotics Club funding. ## Hobbies - Classical piano (Ravel, Liszt, Bach), Princeton Piano Ensemble.
